The role of an Autism Support Assistant is a special one! You will be providing direct support and assistance to the students in the classroom.
These students struggle with additional needs that include autism, ADHD, OCD, school avoidance, stress and anxiety.
You will be working one to one with students who need specialized support, assisting with their personalized intervention plans.
You will provide therapeutic support that will help support the children and teach them healthy ways to cope and regulate their emotions.
You will also be involved and help with the general running's of the classroom.
The ideal Autism Support Assistant will be kind, compassionate and have a passion for helping children.
You will be up for a challenge and not only proactive but also take initiative.
Many of the children that attend this school have education and health care plans so you must be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the children.
You must also have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.This is such an amazing opportunity for those looking for valuable experience that combines both education and psychology.
