Teaching Assistant - Autism Specialist
📍 Leeds Full-Time Term Time Only

🕒 Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with autism and additional learning needs? Career Teachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive special needs school in Leeds, and we're looking for dedicated individuals to join their team this September.
This is a full-time, term-time only role for the entire academic year, with the potential to transition into a permanent contract with the school.
💼 Your Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with autism and other additional needs throughout the school day
Assist with academic tasks, emotional regulation, and social development
Work closely with class teachers and SEN professionals to deliver tailored support
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff✅ What We're Looking For:
Essential: Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly autism
Desirable: Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, autism awareness, or child development
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and collaboration skills
