Supporting Children & Young People with Autism, Complex Needs, and Learning Difficulties (Ages 5-19)

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for Autism Support Workers to join a specialist setting in Scunthorpe. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for students aged 5-19 with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.

About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will:
Provide individualised support for children and young people with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.
Encourage learning, communication, and independence through structured activities and routines.
Build positive and trusting relationships, creating a safe and inclusive environment where students can thrive.
Assist teachers and therapists in delivering personalised learning programmes.
Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and social interaction.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for people who are:
Patient, calm, and empathetic.
Proactive and adaptable to meet a wide range of needs.
Genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with autism and additional needs.
Experienced in working with children or vulnerable young people (desirable but not essential).
Able to provide (or willing to apply for) a DBS on the Update Service.
Relevant training (such as Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or Autism Awareness) would be an advantage, but full training and CPD will be provided.
