Location: Ellesmere Port | Sector: Primary SEN | Hours: Part-Time
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism and special educational needs? We’re looking for a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and specialist primary SEN school in Ellesmere Port.
About the Role
As a key member of the support team, you’ll work closely with pupils aged 4–11, providing tailored 1:1 and small group support. You’ll help children with autism and additional needs access learning, regulate emotions, and thrive in a structured, caring environment.
What We’re Looking For

Classroom experience in a primary or SEN setting
*
Proven experience supporting children with autism and special educational needs
*
Confidence managing behaviours and using sensory or communication strategies
*
A calm, patient, and proactive approach to learning support
*
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalised support plans under teacher and SENCO guidance
*
Use visual aids, sensory tools, and assistive technology to aid engagement
*
Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
*
Support transitions, routines, and social interaction
*
Celebrate progress and encourage independence
