Job Description
Our client is looking for a candidate that has previous Derivative Supervisory or wanting the next step up. The candidate needs to have drive, enthusiasm and worked within a Derivatives / Fixed income department. This role would suit candidates from small to medium banks that have been exposed to a wide range of duties with a steady, work record. Unfortunately, our client cannot provide sponsorship and therefore only applicants that have eligibility to work in the UK for 3+ years in the future will be considered.
Our client, a bank in London is looking for a Banking IRS + Fixed Income Supervisor to join them on a 2-year fixed term contract. This position is 5 days per week office based.
The successful candidate will be handling a wide range of vanilla money market and FX deals, in addition to managing a growing fixed income (securities) portfolio, including REPOS and FX/interest rate swaps.
Main Responsibilities:
• Oversee the end-to-end processing and cycles for interest rate swaps with Centralised Clearing.
• Ensure comprehensive understanding and application of Risk-Free Rates (RFR) in all relevant operations.
• Perform nostro reconciliations with precision and accuracy.
• Process bank-to-bank foreign exchange payments.
• Execute payments for banks with current accounts.
• Process fixed income trades via Swift MT541 and MT543 messages to our custodian.
• Administer daily mark-to-market valuation of derivatives, including margin calls.
• Review daily deal maturities to ensure trades are correctly extended or repaid.
• Reconcile nostro and custodian accounts with precision and accuracy.
• Process charges related to nostro, custodian, brokerage and repository services.
• Monitor transactions for compliance.
• Stay proactive regarding anti-money laundering, compliance, and regulatory responsibilities.
• Demonstrate strong people management skills and the ability to lead a team.
Experience & Skills required:
• Proven experience in treasury operations, particularly with derivatives and clearing processes.
• In-depth knowledge of RFR and its practical applications.
• Strong skills in reconciliation.
• Experience working in a bank of similar size, with an understanding of the unique operational challenges.
• Excellent people management skills and leadership potential.
• Technically competent in Microsoft especially Excel.
