A nurturing and inclusive SEMH School in the Manchester area is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Buddy to join their team in starting September 2025.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs and can build positive relationships to help them thrive both academically and emotionally.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children in KS1 with behavioural needs
Promote positive behaviour strategies and help pupils regulate emotions
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
Help implement behaviour support plans and monitor progress
Create a calm, safe, and supportive environment for learning
Support learning activities while encouraging engagement and focus
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs (ideally in a school setting)
Be patient, consistent, and able to remain calm under pressure
Have strong communication and de-escalation skills
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning – desirable)
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
