Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives? Do you have a calm, caring nature and a knack for building meaningful connections with young people? We’re looking for a Behavioural Friend to join our nurturing and dedicated team at our specialist SEND primary school, supporting boys aged 6–12 with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, and Learning Difficulties. About Us Our school is a safe, supportive, and inclusive setting that celebrates every child’s uniqueness. We pride ourselves on providing personalised learning and emotional support that helps our pupils thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. The Role As a Behavioural Friend, you’ll work 1:1 with individual pupils, supporting their emotional and behavioural development while encouraging positive routines, self-esteem, and independence. Your role will involve: Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and breaktimes Implementing strategies tailored to individual needs Encouraging emotional regulation and resilience Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure holistic support We’re Looking For Someone Who: Is patient, compassionate, and proactive Has experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or Learning Difficulties (desirable, not essential) Understands behaviour as communication Can remain calm under pressure and think on their feet Wants to be a consistent, positive presence in a child’s school life What We Offer: A welcoming, supportive team with ongoing training Opportunities for professional development in SEND and behavioural support A chance to make a lasting impact on a child’s life A rewarding and fulfilling role where no two days are the same Ready to be the difference?
