We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive team in Newham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting a positive learning culture and ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Corridor Supervision: Maintaining a calm and orderly environment during transitions and break times, promoting positive behaviour around the school.
On-Call Support: Responding promptly to behaviour incidents, providing de-escalation and restorative support to help students re-engage with learning.
Exclusion Unit Support: Working closely with pupils in the inclusion/exclusion unit, delivering mentoring and reflection sessions to help them modify behaviour and reintegrate successfully into lessons.
Mentoring and Guidance: Building trusted relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and offering daily pastoral support.
Collaboration: Working closely with Heads of Year, pastoral leads, and teaching staff to support the school's behaviour and inclusion strategies.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with secondary-aged students in a school or youth work setting.
Be calm, consistent, and approachable, with strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Be passionate about inclusion, equality, and helping young people overcome barriers to success.
Be a team player with a proactive attitude and a sense of humour!
