Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Lewisham
Start: Immediate | Full-Time | Long-Term | Competitive Pay (via PAYE)
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Lewisham seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people to make positive choices and succeed in school.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who need additional emotional and behavioural support. You'll build positive relationships, provide structured guidance, and help students re-engage with learning, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural or emotional needs
Help students develop positive strategies for managing their behaviour
Support teachers and pastoral staff in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff where necessary
Encourage resilience, motivation, and self-confidence among students
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, mentoring, or similar)
Strong communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills
A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
