Behaviour Mentor - SEMH Provision (Blackburn) πŸ“ Location: Blackburn πŸ“… Start Date: 6th January 2026 πŸ•’ Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (08:30am - 3:30pm), Term Time Only πŸ’° Pay: Β£106 - Β£115 per day (dependent on experience) We are recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support students within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Blackburn. This full-time role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups, supporting young people who may display challenging behaviours and require individualised emotional and behavioural support. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and committed to helping students build confidence, regulate emotions, and engage positively in learning. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 behaviour support to students with SEMH needs Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies Assist with personalised learning plans and behaviour intervention strategies Build trusting, supportive relationships with students Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment Requirements: Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one Must be able to provide 24 months of employment references with no large gaps in employment history Experience working with young people or individuals with challenging behaviour is desirable A resilient, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour support What's on Offer: 🌟 A rewarding role supporting young people who need it most 🌟 Supportive SEMH provision with a strong pastoral team 🌟 Consistent weekday hours - term time only 🌟 Competitive daily pay of Β£106-Β£115 Interested? This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
