π Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (08:30am - 3:30pm), Term Time Only
π° Pay: Β£106 - Β£115 per day (dependent on experience)
We are recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support students within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Blackburn. This full-time role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups, supporting young people who may display challenging behaviours and require individualised emotional and behavioural support.
The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and committed to helping students build confidence, regulate emotions, and engage positively in learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 behaviour support to students with SEMH needs
Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies
Assist with personalised learning plans and behaviour intervention strategies
Build trusting, supportive relationships with students
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams
Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one
Must be able to provide 24 months of employment references with no large gaps in employment history
Experience working with young people or individuals with challenging behaviour is desirable
A resilient, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour support
