About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Bromley. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young people who need guidance, support, and encouragement to thrive both academically and personally.
You will work closely with students who present challenging behaviours, helping them develop coping strategies, build resilience, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to support students with SEMH needs.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust.
Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
Assist in de-escalating challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
Monitor and record progress, contributing to IEPs and behaviour plans.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
Proven experience working with SEMH students (essential).
Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
Enhanced Child DBS (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
