Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a caring, proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a lovely and welcoming two-form entry primary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about nurturing pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development and committed to making a lasting difference.
This full-time role commences in January - July 2026 and is a 8AM start.
Pay rates are between £100 -£120 depending on experience.
About the Role
As the Behaviour Mentor for this Tower Hamlets Primary School, you will work across KS1 and KS2, supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. You will play a key role in helping children develop positive behaviour strategies, resilience and confidence-ensuring that every pupil feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
A major focus of the role is prevention rather than cure: you will take a proactive approach to behaviour, working closely with class teams to identify potential challenges early and put supportive strategies in place. You will also be visible during unstructured times, such as playtime's and transitions, helping pupils navigate social situations and fostering a calm, positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Work across both KS1 and KS2, adapting strategies to suit different ages and abilities
Use preventative approaches to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Support pupils during unstructured times (breaks, transitions, lunch) to reduce escalation
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff to implement behaviour plans
Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive school culture
Run after-school clubs on two days per week, contributing to pupils' enrichment and wellbeing
Requirements:
An Enhanced Child Only DBS and/or Overseas Police checks
