Behaviour Mentor | Secondary School | Croydon | September 2025 Start Location: Croydon, South London Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only Start Date: September 2025 Salary: £105-£120 per day (dependent on experience) Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to learning? Do you have the patience, resilience, and empathy to guide students through social, emotional, or behavioural challenges? We're working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Croydon that is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral and inclusion team this September. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone with experience in youth work, SEND, or behaviour support who is looking to make a real difference in education. 💬 About the Role: As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students identified as needing additional support with behaviour, attendance, or emotional regulation. You'll act as a positive role model, helping them to engage in learning, develop social skills, and overcome challenges that may be affecting their school life. ✅ Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to implement behaviour plans Track progress and contribute to pastoral reports and student reviews 🎯 Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour Strong communication and relationship-building skills Confident, calm, and consistent under pressure Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies Background in education, psychology, youth work or similar (degree desirable but not essential) 🏫 About the School: This Croydon school has a well-established behaviour and inclusion team and is deeply committed to supporting all learners.
