Job Description
Are you a resilient and compassionate individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people?
We are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a forward-thinking school at the start of the Autumn term. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent, trauma-informed support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Respond calmly and effectively to dysregulated behaviours.
* Plan and deliver tailored interventions to promote emotional regulation, social skills, and behaviour development.
* Build trusting relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
* Lead physical activities during lunchtimes to support engagement and wellbeing.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals.
Essential Requirements:
* Extensive experience supporting pupils with SEMH in school settings.
* Proven ability to respond to dysregulated behaviour in a calm, restorative manner.
* A nurturing, patient, and professional approach at all times.
* Strong attendance record and full-time availability.
* Ability to follow direction and use initiative.
* Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and not phased by challenging behaviour.
* Physically able to be active and “muck in” when needed.
Desirable (but not essential):
* Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training.
* Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
* Background in planning and delivering 1:1 or group interventions.
Dress Code:
* No hoodies, ripped jeans, crocs or items around the neck.
* Stud earrings only – professional dress expected.
