Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Barking
Long Term Futures are working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Barking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to join their internal support team in September.
The school has a dedicated behaviour unit and clear structures in place for intervention, support and re-engagement. It offers a professional, structured, and purposeful environment for staff and students alike.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with students across KS3 and KS4 to support positive behaviour and engagement
* Run behaviour reflection sessions, mentoring check-ins and restorative interventions
* Support teachers during lessons and transitions to minimise disruption
* Monitor pupil progress and behaviour incidents using school systems
* Communicate with families and external professionals as part of wider support plans
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience in youth work, SEMH, PRU or behaviour support roles
* Strong boundaries and ability to remain calm under pressure
* Understanding of behaviour for learning and trauma-informed practice
* A desire to work as part of a well-led behaviour team
Location and Transport - Barking
* Easily accessible via Barking (District, Overground, C2C) and Upney stations
* Local bus routes: EL1, EL2, 62, 287, 368
