GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in schools across Derby. Starting this September, this role is perfect for someone with the drive to guide, support, and inspire young learners facing behavioural challenges.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them manage behaviour, build confidence, and re-engage with their education. Your role will involve working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leaders.
Responsibilities:
Support students with behavioural difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Implement strategies to improve behaviour, self-esteem, and engagement.
Monitor progress and keep detailed records of behaviour incidents and improvements.
Build strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Promote a positive and safe school environment for all pupils.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or similar support role.
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to challenging situations.
An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
