Behaviour Mentor - SEMH School (Salford)
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive team at a specialist SEMH school in Salford. This rewarding role involves working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing both pastoral and academic support to help them thrive in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional wellbeing.
Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to encourage engagement in learning.
Support pupils with strategies to manage their behaviour and develop positive coping skills.
Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure pupils can access education effectively.
Act as a consistent, calm and supportive role model.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEND setting.
Is patient, empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
Can manage challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
Works well as part of a team and can communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents.
