Behavioural Specialist Tutor (Maths & English) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a dedicated Behavioural Specialist Tutor to deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to young people in Havering who face behavioural challenges and may be out of mainstream education. This role involves creating and delivering bespoke lessons in Maths and English to support learners in bridging gaps in their knowledge while fostering positive engagement and improved confidence. This is an ideal position for someone with a teaching qualification who is passionate about making a real difference through personalised learning approaches. Experience or training in team teaching and behaviour management would be highly beneficial to support working with pupils who require additional structure and support. You will play a crucial role in re-engaging pupils, helping them build confidence, and encouraging a positive attitude towards learning. We will provide ongoing support and work closely with you to track progress and ensure effective learning outcomes. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location: Havering, various locations Position: Behavioural Specialist Tutor Type of Work: Contract Start Date: ASAP Duration: Dependent on individual pupil needs Contract Type: Temporary Hours: 10 - 15 hours per week (flexible scheduling available) Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification preferred Proven experience teaching Maths and English Experience working with pupils with behavioural needs is highly desirable Team Teach training or similar behaviour management training is an advantage Ability to plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons to individual learners Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST: Have the legal right to work in the UK Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list, registered on the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS Provide two professional references related to work with children or young people covering the last two years ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If you are passionate about supporting young people's learning and behaviour, and you meet the above criteria, please apply with an up-to-date CV.
