APT Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Coventry to recruit a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant. This is a full-time, ongoing role starting January 2026 or earlier, supporting pupils with a range of behavioural and emotional needs.
This school is known for its strong pastoral ethos, nurturing environment, and commitment to helping every child thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, structured, and supportive space where children feel understood and empowered.
🧠 About the Role:
You’ll be working closely with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who may present with:
* Challenging behaviour
* ADHD, Autism (ASC), or PDA
* Emotional regulation difficulties
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils manage behaviour and engage in learning
* Implementing behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies
* Supporting pupils through transitions, routines, and classroom activities
* Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
* Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
✅ Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with behavioural needs or SEMH in a school or care setting
* Calm, confident, and compassionate approach to behaviour management
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practices
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
