🏫 About the Role
APT Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate KS2 Behaviour Support Assistant to join a forward-thinking primary school in Birmingham. This full-time role starts in January 2026 and is ideal for someone with a proven track record supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and social-emotional needs.
You’ll work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural challenges
* Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Act as a positive role model, promoting emotional regulation and respectful relationships
* Support classroom routines and transitions to reduce anxiety and disruption
* Liaise with staff and parents to ensure consistent support across settings
👤 About You
We’re looking for a confident and empathetic TA with:
* Recent experience in a UK primary school, specifically KS2
* Strong understanding of behavioural needs and intervention strategies
* Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils who may struggle with boundaries
* Calm, consistent approach to behaviour management
* A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
