Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with behavioural and additional needs?

A Secondary SEN School in Reading is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Therapists, Behavioural Specialists, or Teachers.

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural, emotional, and additional needs.
Support students in developing positive behaviours, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
Help students manage challenging situations and develop appropriate strategies for managing their emotions and behaviour.
Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a calm, positive, and supportive learning environment.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.We're looking for a Behavioural Support Assistant who is:

Compassionate, patient, resilient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
A confident communicator with a genuine interest in behaviour, mental health, and SEN.
Able to remain calm and consistent when supporting students who may display challenging or distressed behaviour.
Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy, or behavioural support.Job Details

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
