Leyland
Supporting Students with Complex Behavioural Needs
We're recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students who have additional needs including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You'll implement evidence-based interventions to support positive behaviour and learning outcomes.
The Role
Full-time
What You'll Do:
Build trusting relationships with students facing behavioural challenges
Implement individual behaviour support plans using de-escalation techniques
Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals
Create calm, structured learning environmentsWhat We Need:
Experience working with children with challenging behaviour
Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
Commitment to safeguarding and flexible problem-solving mindset
Physical and emotional resilienceDesirable: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching qualification, behaviour management training (Team Teach/MAPA), SEN experience
