About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to work across primary schools in the Sefton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional help with behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation, ensuring they are able to fully access their learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and SENCOs, providing one-to-one and small group support to help pupils develop positive behaviours and build confidence in a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children with behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
Provide tailored strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour.
Work one-to-one and with small groups to encourage engagement in learning.
Assist teachers in creating a calm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with behavioural or SEN needs (desirable).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting challenging behaviour.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
