Behaviour Support Specialist
Location: Boston
Salary: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Specialist to join schools in the Boston area. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with experience in behaviour mentoring, youth work, or supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviours in a school or alternative provision setting.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping students manage and overcome behavioural barriers to learning. You will support students in-class, in small group sessions, or one-to-one, assisting them in building confidence, regulating emotions, and achieving their academic potential.
Behaviour Support Specialist Responsibilities:
Support students displaying challenging behaviour, encouraging positive choices and emotional regulation
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with individual behaviour support plans
Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure effective interventions
Establish positive and trusting relationships with students to support their social and emotional development
Promote a calm and safe learning environment that enables students to focus and thrive
Provide targeted mentoring and support through structured interventions or informal conversations
Maintain detailed behaviour and progress records to assist in planning and monitoring impact
Candidate Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour as a Behaviour Support Specialist or similar
Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills with a calm, consistent approach
Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management, youth work, or mental health are desirable
Ability to build rapport with vulnerable learners and encourage engagement in education
Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
