Behavioural Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioural Specialist to provide dedicated support for two autistic pupils in a Bolton primary school. This role involves implementing personalised strategies to support emotional regulation, engagement with learning, and positive behaviour, while working closely with school staff and families.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group support tailored to the individual needs of two SEN pupils.
Implement behaviour support plans and autism-specific strategies to promote emotional wellbeing and engagement.
Use therapeutic and structured approaches to help pupils manage transitions, sensory needs, and social interactions.
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and other documentation.
Promote inclusion and a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Preferable Experience
Experience supporting autistic children in a primary school setting.
Knowledge of autism-specific strategies.
Familiarity with emotional regulation tools and behaviour management frameworks.
Experience working with children with additional needs including ADHD, anxiety, or communication difficulties.
Understanding of safeguarding and SEND legislation.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in Behaviour Support, Teaching Assistance, Psychology, or a related field.
Autism awareness or SEND training (e.g., NAS Autism Training, Team Teach).
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.How to Apply
