Key Information - Behavioural Support Assistant Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Full-time, 08:30-15:00 (Term-time only) Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience) Location: WheatleyWe are working in partnership with a well-regarded specialist school in Wheatley, which supports children and young people aged 2-19 with complex needs. The school is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behavioural Support Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable students in a therapeutic and educational environment. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to help create a safe, structured, and nurturing setting that enables every student to thrive. Key Responsibilities of a Behavioural Support Assistant: Provide tailored behavioural and emotional support to students on a 1:1 or small group basis Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using a compassionate and proactive approach Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment Support students in developing self-regulation, communication, and social skills Collaborate with teaching and support staff to implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies Monitor student progress and contribute to review meetings and reports as requiredThe Ideal Behavioural Support Assistant Will: Have previous experience working with children or young people - preferred but not essential Demonstrate resilience, patience, and a calm demeanour in high-pressure situations Be an enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitude Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Be genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs, particularly those with Autism and behavioural challenges If you are ready to take the next step in your career and make a real difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply today to be a Behavioural Support assistant.
