Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 basic (DOE)

ABOUT
A leading Building Energy Management Systems specialist is seeking experienced BEMS Small Works Engineers to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for engineers with strong skills in service, fault-finding, commissioning, and small works modifications.
You’ll be working across a variety of commercial and public-sector environments including healthcare, leisure, education, and large-scale venues. This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent technical capability, strong communication skills, and the ability to support junior engineers as part of ongoing team development.

Responsibilities – BEMS Small Works Engineer
Commission, test, and verify new BEMS installations and upgrades
Deliver small works modifications to existing systems and service systems
Diagnose and resolve complex faults across BMS controllers, control panels, field wiring and associated plant
Maintain strong customer relationships and provide professional technical advice
Ensure all work is delivered on time and to specification
Produce accurate documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards
Support and mentor junior engineers and apprentices
Requirements – BEMS Small Works Engineer
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a BEMS Controls Engineer
Strong experience with TREND and/or Tridium systems
Relevant electrical qualifications (C&G Level 2 or equivalent)
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving ability
Solid understanding of mechanical plant and associated systems
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Full UK driving licence
Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills
Ability to support junior team members
Tridium N4 certification
Trend Expert status (current or former)
Experience with Siemens systems (e.g., XWorks, Desigo)
Understanding of ISO 9001 standards
