We are hiring for a Bench Hand Joiner who has proven experience in producing high-quality joinery products and can work confidently with a variety of timbers and tools. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leicester, producing bespoke joinery for both commercial and residential projects.
Duties of a Bench Hand Joiner
In this role, you will be working in the workshop production team to deliver precision joinery products to customer specifications. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for:
Manufacturing bespoke joinery items including doors, frames, panels, and other wood-based products.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and cutting lists.
Using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
Carrying out quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards.
Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.
Skills and Experience of a Bench Hand Joiner
As a Bench Hand Joiner, you need to have experience with:
Bench joinery within a manufacturing or workshop environment.
Reading and understanding technical drawings.
It would be beneficial to the Bench Hand Joiner role if you also had:
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience working with both hardwoods and softwoods.
Knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Relevant joinery or carpentry qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
