Westray Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Bendi & Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our client’s busy warehouse operation in Washington. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused individual looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday position.

The business

Our client is a well-established and busy business based in Washington, operating a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.

Due to continued operational requirements, they are looking for a skilled Bendi & Counterbalance Forklift Driver to support the movement, storage and loading of stock across the site.

The Role

As a Bendi & Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse and yard.

Your duties will include:

Safely operating Bendi and counterbalance forklift trucks in line with site procedures and health & safety requirements.
	
Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
	
Moving, stacking and storing pallets and materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
	
Picking and positioning stock accurately.
	
Loading and unloading racking safely, ensuring goods are correctly positioned and secure.
	
Completing daily pre-use forklift checks and reporting any defects immediately.
	
Ensuring loads are secure and within the safe operating capacity of the forklift.
	
Working safely around pedestrians, vehicles and other warehouse equipment.
	
Supporting general warehouse duties, including picking, loading, unloading and stock movements.
	
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
	
Completing relevant paperwork, stock records and delivery documentation.
	
Reporting damaged stock, equipment defects, hazards or accidents promptly.
	
Working as part of a wider warehouse team to achieve productivity and accuracy targets.
	
Following all company procedures relating to PPE, manual handling, traffic management and workplace safety.

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Indate/ external Bendi forklift experience and certification.
	
Indate/ external Valid Counterbalance forklift experience and certification.
	
Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
	
Proven experience safely operating forklifts in a busy working environment.
	
Good understanding of warehouse health & safety procedures.
	
Experience loading/unloading vehicles and moving palletised goods.
	
Ability to safely load and work with warehouse racking.
	
Good attention to detail and accuracy when moving and positioning stock.
	
A reliable and hardworking attitude.
	
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
	
Good communication skills.
	
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.
