Pre-Construction Bid Manager – Construction Newcastle Excellent salary + car allowance + benefits Permanent | Established Main Contractor Are you a proven Bid Manager who can take full ownership of the tender process — from initial enquiry through to site handover? We’re working with a long-standing, reputable main contractor with a strong presence across the North East, delivering a diverse range of projects across commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use sectors. As part of their continued growth, they’re seeking an experienced and driven Pre-Construction Bid Manager to join their Newcastle office and lead the successful delivery of bids from start to finish. The Role In this pivotal role, you’ll manage the entire bid lifecycle — from initial opportunity review and strategy through to tender submission and project handover to the delivery team. You’ll coordinate all aspects of the pre-construction process, bringing together estimating, design, planning, and commercial input to produce competitive and compelling bids. Key responsibilities include: * Lead and manage bids from first enquiry to site handover, ensuring quality and consistency throughout * Develop bid strategies in collaboration with Directors, Estimators, and Design Managers * Oversee preparation of tender documentation, PQQs, and technical submissions * Manage the bid programme, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved * Coordinate design, commercial, and operational teams to produce winning tenders * Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and post-tender negotiations * Support continuous improvement in the pre-construction process About You You’ll be an experienced Bid Manager or Pre-Construction professional with the capability to manage complex bids from inception through to contract award and handover. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong attention to detail, and can lead multidisciplinary teams with confidence and clarity.
