Bid Manager – Civil Engineering | Glasgow-Based with UK-Wide Projects
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering high-profile infrastructure projects across Scotland, England, and Wales. This is a key strategic role, working closely with the Estimating Manager and Deputy Managing Director, and will play a pivotal part in the company’s continued success and growth across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality, compelling bid submissions
Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and third parties to shape and deliver winning strategies
Analyse contract documentation, negotiate terms, and ensure commercial and legal risks are managed effectively
Develop cost-effective, design-led solutions that align with the company’s strengths and client expectations
Mentor and manage bid team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Report directly to the Estimating Manager and Deputy Managing Director
About You:
Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent) with 10+ years’ experience (Preferred)
Strong background in contracting, with proven success in Design & Build environments
Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC forms of contract, with a track record of successful negotiation
Demonstrated experience in managing complex bids and leading cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
