Job Description

Lyreco is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join its team in Telford, operating on a hybrid working model. In this pivotal role, you will lead the bid process to produce and deliver the most effective and high-quality bid responses and presentation collateral. In this dynamic and competitive business environment you will manage the bid lifecycle for both new and existing business bid opportunities including opportunity management, bid governance, PQQ / bid writing and presentation preparation. Reporting to the Head of Bids, you will work with the Bid Team supporting sales team members in driving win rates, commercial growth and profit. Bid Manager Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: * Be a champion for the bid policy; guiding the external sales force through the bid process, advising on bid governance, bid qualification, best practice and coaching sales teams through proposal and pitch presentation preparation. * Develop strong relationships with Divisional Directors to understand pipelines and optimise the pre-engagement stage of the bid process to maximise our chances of success. * Lead on large, strategically important and complex bids across all Divisions. * Chairing kick-off and progress update calls to ensure the production of the bid is on track. * Unpick ITTs, define response requirements and develop bid submission plans. * Develop compelling win themes in conjunction with the sales teams. * Write client focused RFP / ITT responses. * Complete ITT / RFP / SQ / PQQ submissions working to tight deadlines. * Challenge content to ensure our response ‘answers the question’, meets the requirements of the ITT and offers compelling reasons to buy / win themes. * Communicate and liaise with Account Managers, Business Development Managers and other Lyreco departments to ensure that proposals are reflective of the business and the clients’ needs. * Proof-read all documentation prior to submission. * Shaping, formatting, proofing and producing presentation documentation for the pitch team. * Meeting bid production plans and assigned responsibilities as set out by the Head of Bids. * Following up on the outcome of bids and conducting bid debriefs on both won and lost opportunities. * Produce, update and catalogue Bid FAQ library information and collateral to be used in bid documents. * Updating the Bid Log with all relevant information relating to bids that you have worked on. Bid Manager Person Profile (Skills/Personality/Communication): * At least five years’ experience in a Bid Manager position. * Holds or working towards APMP CF. * Experience of project managing bids and working to a defined bid governance policy. * Proven track record of writing compelling and successful bids. * Experience of bid writing within a service industry would be beneficial but not essential. * Ability to produce large documents to a high standard including formatting, proofreading, and ensuring consistency in style. * Outstanding proposal and presentation design experience. * Meticulous with an eye for detail and experience of proof-reading complex documents. * Strong organisational and project management skills. * Ability to work in a highly pressurised and deadline driven environment. * Reliant and determined in attitude, assesses own performance, can flex to accommodate timescales and strives to exceed.
