Tender Manager – Renewables (Commercial Solar PV)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tender Manager with expertise in Renewables, specifically Commercial Solar PV projects. The Tender Manager will be responsible for managing the full tendering process, from initial opportunity identification through to contract award, ensuring that all bids are commercially sound, technically compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires strong commercial acumen, a detailed understanding of solar PV technology, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Management
Lead and manage the end-to-end tender process for Commercial Solar PV projects, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses.
Analyse tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to identify risks, opportunities, and deliverables.
Develop structured bid plans, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Technical & Commercial Coordination
Work closely with engineering, procurement, finance, and legal teams to prepare accurate, competitive, and compliant bids.
Ensure technical solutions are optimised, cost-effective, and tailored to client requirements.
Prepare pricing models, cost breakdowns, and value engineering proposals.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for tender-related communications with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders to support pipeline growth.
Risk & Compliance
Conduct risk assessments on commercial and contractual terms.
Ensure all bids comply with health, safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements within the renewables sector.
Continuous Improvement
Maintain a library of bid materials, case studies, and templates for efficiency.
Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to support strategic business development.Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in tender management / bid management within the renewable energy sector, ideally with focus on Commercial Solar PV.
Strong knowledge of solar PV design, installation, and commercial models (e.g., PPA, EPC, O&M).
Excellent project management, organisational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and financial models.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and tendering/bid management software.Education & Experience
Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a tender, proposals, or commercial management role within renewables/solar PV.
Track record of delivering successful bids and securing contracts in the renewable energy market.What We Offer
