Key Responsibilities
Bid Writing
*
Create and submit high-quality, tailored bids and proposals in response to client tenders and requests.
*
Ensure all submissions are compliant with client specifications and deadlines.
*
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., project managers, engineers) to gather the necessary technical and commercial information.
*
Write clear, persuasive content that effectively communicates the company’s capabilities, experience, and competitive advantage.
*
Review, edit, and proofread submissions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and professional quality.
*
Manage the full bid lifecycle—from opportunity identification through to submission and post-bid follow-up.
Quality Administration
*
Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the company’s quality management systems.
*
Assist in internal audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards and company procedures.
*
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality assurance protocols are followed and all documentation is up to date.
*
Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory quality standards.
*
Identify opportunities for quality improvement and support the implementation of best practices.
*
Maintain organised records and documentation related to both bids and quality assurance activities.
Administrative Support
*
Prepare and submit pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and other related documentation.
*
Produce reports, summaries, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
*
Organise and maintain bid and quality-related files, records, and templates.
Requirements
*
Demonstrable experience in bid writing or proposal development, ideally within the construction, civil engineering, or plant hire sectors.
*
Strong knowledge of bid preparation processes and experience developing successful tender submissions.
*
Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards.
*
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce concise, persuasive content.
*
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
*
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with bid management tools is desirable.
*
Understanding of construction-related standards, such as ISO 9001, is advantageous.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
*
Degree or qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
*
Experience with tender portals and electronic bid submission systems.
*
Familiarity with the plant hire industry and relevant regulatory requirements.
*
Background in project management or quality assurance within the construction or civil engineering sector.
