Billing Manager — Position Overview: Lead and oversee all aspects of the billing function Manage CCMS and CRM6 submissions Oversee high-cost case plans and civil claims uploads Supervise and support a small billing team Work closely with legal departments to ensure LAA compliance Streamline billing processes and improve efficiency Key Responsibilities of the Billing Manager: Oversee preparation, submission, and reconciliation of legal aid bills across all departments Manage controlled and certificated billing, including CCMS submissions, CRM6s, and high-cost case plans Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency on claims, rejections, appeals, and audits Ensure all billing is timely, accurate, and compliant with LAA guidance Provide training and support to legal teams on billing best practice Lead and manage a small billing team, including workload planning and professional development Improve internal billing processes to enhance efficiency Prepare billing records and documentation for audits and reviews Monitor billing KPIs and assist with financial forecasting and reporting Requirements of the Billing Manager: Essential: In-depth knowledge of Legal Aid Agency billing processes (CCMS, CRM6, high-cost case claims) At least 3 years’ experience in billing or legal finance, ideally in a legal aid environment Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent attention to detail, organisational ability, and problem-solving skills Experience working with case management systems and billing portals Strong written and verbal communication skills Desirable: Prior experience leading a billing or finance team in a law firm Familiarity with Legal Aid contract compliance and audit preparation Proficiency in Excel and billing analysis tools The Benefits for the Billing Manager role: Competitive salary 25 days’ annual leave Flexible and hybrid working arrangements Training and career development opportunities Supportive, inclusive working environment Equal opportunities employer If you’re a Billing Manager ready for your next step, apply today.
