Job Title: BIM Manager
Location: Hybrid (40% on-site, increasing to 60% by September) – Preferred base: Manchester. Other locations include Blackpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Pontypridd, Sheffield, London, or Birmingham.
Contract Duration: Until 31 March 2026, with possibility of extension
Daily Rate: £400/day (Umbrella – Maximum)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive BIM Manager to lead the implementation and management of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes within a large-scale, asset-intensive organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the digital strategy for asset and facilities management, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the asset lifecycle.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development and governance of BIM standards and ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework.
Define and manage digital asset data standards, including Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
Oversee the quality of BIM outputs through regular audits, ensuring models meet project and operational specifications.
Champion the integration of BIM with operational systems such as CAFM/IWMS, enabling effective digital facilities and asset management.
Facilitate structured data delivery to support operational needs, sustainability initiatives, and long-term space planning.
Manage and maintain a secure, collaborative Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring accurate and consistent data exchange across project stakeholders.
Mentor and support a small team of BIM professionals, encouraging innovation and digital capability development.
Promote BIM adoption across departments through training, internal advocacy, and representation at external industry events.
Monitor project performance using KPIs and use feedback to guide improvements, including the exploration of digital twin capabilities.
Essential Experience and Skills
Strong background in BIM implementation and strategy development aligned with ISO 19650 and related UK standards.
Direct experience in creating and maintaining asset data standards, including AIR, EIR, and digital handover procedures.
A track record in BIM quality assurance, with the ability to carry out technical audits and compliance checks.
Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, with the ability to review, coordinate, and validate model content.
Familiarity with IFC and COBie data standards for asset handover and facilities integration.
Experience aligning BIM data with operational platforms like CAFM or IWMS systems.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, and Power BI.
Proven experience using CDE platforms to manage collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
Leadership capabilities with a background in mentoring and developing digital teams.
Comfortable delivering BIM training and driving digital transformation initiatives across departments.
Familiar with performance monitoring and leveraging data to enhance efficiency and develop digital twins.
Technical Proficiencies
Autodesk Revit – Expert level
Navisworks Manage – Model coordination, clash detection, and 4D visualisation
CDE Platforms – Including Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Asite, or Bentley ProjectWise
Data Standards – IFC, COBie
Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project
Collaboration Tools – SharePoint Lists, Planner, Power BI
Scripting/Automation – Basic Dynamo for Revit knowledge (preferred)
CAFM/IWMS Integration – Understanding of data flow between BIM and operational systems
Model Checking – Experience with Solibri is advantageous
