The client is a well-established, growing business in the hospitality sector, known for its fast-paced environment and commitment to operational excellence. They're currently seeking maternity cover for a key finance role and are open to flexible working arrangements.
Description
Maintain accurate financial records using Sage accounting software
Process and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
Manage VAT returns and liaise with HMRC
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including PAYE, pensions, and holiday pay
Prepare and distribute payslips, P45s, and year-end summaries
Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and cash flow reports
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Support process improvements and automation initiatives
Profile
Experienced in bookkeeping and financial control, ideally with at least 3 years in a similar role
Proficient in Sage accounting software (essential)
Confident managing payroll, including PAYE, pensions, and statutory compliance
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Able to work independently and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
Comfortable producing management accounts and supporting budgeting and forecasting
Open to process improvement and automation initiatives
AAT qualified or qualified by experience
Flexible and adaptable - open to full-time, condensed hours, or part-time working
