A growing business is looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the Financial Controller and ensure the efficient operation of the office. This dual responsibility role offers a diverse range of tasks, from managing daily financial transactions to providing essential administrative support.
Along with a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, you will receive a range of benefits including 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), a Christmas shutdown, life insurance, a company pension scheme (5% employer contributions) and onsite parking.
As Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:
Reporting directly to and supporting the Group Financial Controller.
Assisting with audit requirements and preparations.
Supporting the preparation of tax filings and liaising with external accountants as needed.
Accurately recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
Performing timely reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts.
Efficiently processing accounts payable and receivable.
Preparing monthly financial reports and assisting with budgeting.
Supporting payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements (as needed).
Assisting with and support the sales order process.
Undertaking general office duties and non-finance administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth operations.
What we’re looking for in a Bookkeeper:
The ideal Bookkeeper will be a proactive and adaptable professional with a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and a keen eye for detail. You'll be comfortable managing multiple tasks, possess excellent communication skills, and be adept at using accounting software.
Skills/experience:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Office Assistant, or similar role.
A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, ideally demonstrated by Level 3 AAT qualification or strong practical experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (Sage experience is highly desirable).
Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
