Bracknell Forest Council - Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Chair
£42.76 p/h Umbrella | Part Time - 18.5 hours
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Chairing all Looked After Children reviews and Child Protection conferences in person.
* Ensuring that statutory processes are followed and children's plans are robust, outcome-focused, and progressed within required timescales.
* Providing professional oversight and escalation when there are concerns regarding drift, delay, or quality of practice.
* Working collaboratively with social workers, managers, and multi-agency partners to ensure effective safeguarding practice.
* Offering scrutiny, challenge, and quality assurance to care planning, assessments, and decision-making.
* Completing associated reports, recommendations, and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
* Attending in-person team meetings all other work can be completed remotely.
Working Pattern:
* Part time - 18.5 hours
* In-person chairing required remote work permitted for other tasks
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work qualification and SWE registration
* Strong experience in Child Protection and Looked After Children work
* Significant experience chairing statutory meetings
* Ability to travel locally for in-person requirements
