We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Teacher/Specialist Support Teacher to work with a vision-impaired student, providing high-quality support including Braille-base learning.
This is 15 hours a week, but can be flexible with this.
About the Role
Teach and support the student in reading and writing Braille.
Modify lesson resources into accessible formats (eg Braille, audio, tactile resources)
Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet our student's needs
Support our student in building confidence and independence
Collaborate with family and support staff where appropriateRequirements:
Proficiency in Unified English Braille
Experienced teaching or tutoring visually impaired leaners
A deep understanding of child development principles and effective teaching methodologies.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
