Job Title: Brake Press Setter/Operator
Location: Lancing, West Sussex
Salary: £14.00 per hour - £17.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4.00pm / Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Brake Press Setter/Operator to join our growing client's Sheet Metal / Metal Fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to fabricate or modify metal parts according to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate brake press machinery safely and efficiently
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Select, install, and align appropriate tooling and dies
Adjust machine settings for speed, material thickness, and bend angle
Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment issues
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Brake Press Setter/Operator
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Familiarity with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
Capable of working independently and as part of a team
Good physical condition - able to lift and handle materials as required
Desirable:
Experience with CNC brake press machines (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, etc.)
Relevant vocational training or engineering/manufacturing qualifications
