Location: Islington, London

Contract: Part-time & Long-term roles available
Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible part-time options)
Pay: £100-£1210 per day PAYE (dependent on experience)

Overview:
SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) expertise to support deaf and hearing-impaired pupils within a primary school deaf provision in Islington. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to play a vital role in helping children access the curriculum, build communication skills, and thrive both academically and socially in an inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 and small group support for deaf and hearing-impaired pupils across primary year groups
Use fluent BSL to facilitate learning, communication, and social interaction
Work closely with the class teacher, Teacher of the Deaf, and SENCO to adapt and deliver tailored lessons
Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing, independence, and self-confidence
Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Recognised BSL qualification (minimum Level 2, Level 3+ preferred)
Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children in schools
Strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills
Patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with SEND
