Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant
Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (PAYE, DOE)
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a skilled British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Brent from January 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BSL practitioner to support pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support using BSL to facilitate communication and learning
Assisting class teachers with adapted lessons and individualised support plans
Promoting independence, confidence, and positive social interaction among pupils
Supporting the inclusion of pupils with hearing impairments within the wider school community
What We're Looking For:
BSL qualification (minimum Level 2 required)
Experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments (in a school or care setting)
A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
