Are you a compassionate, resilient, and skilled Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting deaf students? We are looking for an exceptional SEN TA to work with one of our specialist primary schools in the Bolton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of children and young people with hearing impairments. You’ll be supporting both 1:1 and group interventions, helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and inclusive support across general TA duties and SEN-specific interventions.
Work closely with pupils who are deaf, using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively.
Provide tailored 1:1 support and lead small group sessions.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement EHCPs and learning plans.
Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
✅ Requirements:
Fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) – essential.
Current Child & Adult DBS (on the update service).
Proven experience working with deaf individuals, ideally in an educational setting.
A resilient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting SEN learners.
Ability to adapt and respond to individual needs with creativity and care.
Safeguarding training (Provided by us)
