Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for a Building Control Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to undertake technical assessments and inspections of building projects, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), the Building Act 1984 and associated legislation, including enforcement of Building Regulations, dangerous structures, and demolitions.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Manage a caseload of domestic and non-domestic projects, providing professional advice and taking enforcement action as required
• Conduct site inspections and liaise with consultees, stakeholders and relevant organisations
• Undertake dangerous structures inspections and instruct necessary remedial action
• Prepare case files for enforcement or other legal action to maintain compliance
• Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders on Building Control matters
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Registered with Building Safety Regulator as a minimum Class 2E (Assessment & Inspection)
• Full membership in CABE, RICS or MCIOB
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the building control sector
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Detailed knowledge of building construction and Building Regulations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Full driving licence and access to a car
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £65 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £55 per hour PAYE).
