Building Physics Consultant
Manchester (Hybrid Working)
£40,000 - £45,000
A well-established and forward-thinking multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Physics Consultant to join their Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where sustainability and building performance are at the core of project delivery, offering exposure to a wide range of sectors and technically challenging developments.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver building performance modelling and analysis across a range of projects
Carry out dynamic simulation modelling to inform design decisions
Support Part L compliance and energy strategies
Undertake overheating assessments (TM52 / TM59 / Part O)
Contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
Produce technical reports and sustainability documentation
Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients
Support the integration of low and zero carbon technologies
Ensure project delivery meets quality standards and deadlinesTechnical Expertise
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
IES VE (essential)
SBEM for Part L compliance
Dynamic simulation modelling
Daylight and thermal comfort analysis
Understanding of UK Building Regulations and guidanceAbout the Candidate
Degree qualified in Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, or similar
Experience in a building physics or sustainability consultancy role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and client-facing abilities
Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
