Building Services Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor

📍 Oxford

I am currently working on behalf of a forward-thinking and well-established Main Contractor with a strong presence across the UK and Ireland, who are looking to appoint an experienced Building Services Manager for a key project based in Oxford.

The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will take ownership of the design, coordination, delivery, and commissioning of MEP services on a high-value construction project.

Key responsibilities include:

  * Managing the design, drawing, and approval process in line with the project programme

  * Working closely with pre-construction teams to ensure client requirements are fully understood and reflected in proposals

  * Ensuring all building services are coordinated, integrated, and delivered on time

  * Driving compliance with building regulations, planning conditions, and specifications

  * Supporting planning teams to ensure MEP elements are fully integrated into delivery programmes

  * Implementing and maintaining quality control systems to meet high standards

  * Monitoring progress and ensuring specialist subcontractors are appropriately resourced

  * Supporting commercial and quantity surveying teams with variations and valuations

  * Managing the commissioning process, ensuring systems operate as designed and end users are fully trained

  * Attending and leading client, technical, and commissioning meetings

Requirements

To be considered, candidates should have:

  * A strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services within a Main Contractor, Consultancy, or Subcontractor environment

  * One of the following (or equivalent):

      * BTEC in Building Services Engineering / Operations & Maintenance

      * HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services

      * Degree in Building Services Engineering

  * Proven experience delivering MEP packages on construction projects
