Location: Ideally within 1.5 hours of Cambridge, UK
Salary: £80,000 per annum plus package
Our clinet is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Manager / MEP Manager to join our team permanently. This role is pivotal in overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for our projects, with the initial assignment being a key part of a £45 million fit-out project for a new factory.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Manage and coordinate all MEP systems including BMS, Mechanical, Electrical installations, sprinkler systems, and other mechanical and electrical installations.
*
Ensure compliance with project specifications, design drawings, and relevant standards.
*
Collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver MEP systems on time and within budget.
*
Lead the planning, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of MEP systems.
*
Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
*
Resolve technical issues and challenges related to MEP systems during construction.
*
Provide technical support and guidance to the project team on MEP-related matters.
*
Manage and monitor MEP budgets, costs, and schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Required Skills and Experience:
*
Proven experience as a Building Services Manager or MEP Manager, ideally within the construction industry.
*
Demonstrable experience managing large-scale installations of MEP systems, including BMS and sprinkler systems.
*
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their integration into construction projects.
*
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
*
Effective leadership and team management skills with a collaborative approach to working.
*
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges on site.
*
Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
*
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
*
Professional certifications in MEP systems management or relevant disciplines are advantageous.
