Building Surveyor – Portsmouth/Hybrid – £35.68 per hour (Umbrella)
A Local Authority in Portsmouth is seeking an Interim Building Surveyor to join their Property Services Team on a contract basis.
You will play a key role in delivering a wide range of surveying duties across the Council’s diverse property portfolio, which includes over 3,000 housing stock units as well as operational, commercial, and community assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend day-to-day responsive repairs across the property portfolio
Diagnose building defects and determine appropriate remedial works
Evaluate and recommend repair options and issue works accordingly
Update stock condition data and maintain accurate property records
Undertake condition surveys and inspections of housing and other assets
Requirements:
Proven experience in Building Surveying, with a focus on repairs and condition surveys
Strong diagnostic and report-writing skills
Knowledge of responsive repair best practices in a local authority or social housing context
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
