Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Building & Preservation Surveyor based in Dundee.
The client, one of Scotland’s most trusted names in specialist contracting, is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Building & Preservation Surveyor to join their dynamic team. Operating for over 100 years, the client delivers excellence across construction, interiors, and protective coatings. This role offers the chance to support surveying, diagnosis, and delivery of preservation works across varied property types throughout Dundee and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct property surveys with a focus on damp, timber decay, and structural integrity
- Diagnose issues and specify suitable treatments for preservation and repair
- Prepare detailed technical reports and schedules of remedial work
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitor project progress and ensure work meets regulatory standards
- Contribute to health & safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in building preservation, surveying, or remedial treatments
- Knowledge of damp-proofing, timber treatments, and associated repair methodologies
- Industry qualifications in surveying or preservation (PCA or similar desirable)
- Strong reporting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail
